You had hoped to enjoy the festival atmosphere, grab some king cake, perhaps try some chicory coffee, fight the crowds for a strand or two of beads, and put all thoughts of work out of your mind. That hope is quickly dashed once it becomes clear that there is a killer on the loose. THE LOCKED ROOM RIDDLE SYNOPSIS - True crime author, Gabriel Franco, has rented a room at the Chateau Tenebres Hotel for the week to compile all of his notes for his upcoming book, “Unmasking The Hilldale Ghoul: An Expose.” On the day he is scheduled for checkout, the maid tries to access the room and finds it bolted shut from the inside. After getting maintenance to break the door down, they find Franco dead at his computer which has been smashed beyond repair just like his broken skull. The window is locked from the inside, and there are no obvious signs of how anyone could have accessed the room. Although the killer thought he or she destroyed all of the evidence Franco had that pointed to The Ghoul’s identity by destroying the computer, the files automatically backed up to the cloud. Among the information included in Franco’s manuscript notes were a list of suspects that comprised the initial chapters of his book and a final entry that abruptly ended before he had time to complete it. The last line in the manuscript read only, “The identity of The Hilldale Ghoul is…” Can you solve The Locked Room Riddle and unmask The Hilldale Ghoul?
