THE HALLOWEEN LETTERS SYNOPSIS - Your aunt, the town’s resident witch, has grown tired of seeing her mysterious lifestyle reduced to costumes, decorations, and cheap Halloween caricatures. In retaliation, she has cursed the entire town for the month of October, determined to ruin Halloween once and for all.
Your only hope is your eccentric cousin, who may know his mother’s secret for breaking the spell. Over four weeks, his strange letters guide you to four enchanted items hidden in the town’s creepiest locations: a haunted house, a twisting corn maze, an ancient cemetery, and an abandoned hospital with a chilling past.
Can you follow the clues, collect the items, and undo the curse before Halloween night? Or will your aunt make sure the town never celebrates Halloween again?
HOW WILL THE HALLOWEEN LETTERS WORK? - You will receive a letter each week for a total of four weeks. From the mailings, you will read through information from your cousin, investigate, solve puzzles, and solve the week's mystery. The first mailing will ship Friday, October 2. Each additional mailing will be on the following Fridays. We are also offering an "All-At-Once" option where you will receive all four letters at the same time. For those customers, the option will ship during the week of October 18. Each letter will be shipped with tracking information.
A BLEND OF PUZZLES AND INVESTIGATION – Mysteries from The Deadbolt Mystery Society involve a combination of solving puzzles and detective work. Take a break from the real world and escape into this mystery for approximately 8+ hours of solving with a difficulty rating of 3/5 locks. Solve time and difficulty rating may vary based on factors such as group size, experience level, etc.
INTERACTIVE MYSTERY COMPONENTS – Utilizing the use of QR codes, as puzzles are solved and evidence is gathered, participants will unlock password-protected QR codes that will advance the storyline and provide more information for the investigation. Some unlocked QR codes may even instruct participants to open sealed envelopes furthering the investigation. The use of password-protected files also helps keep from spoiling the mystery for participants, if information gathered is incorrect.
