LOST ON THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD SYNOPSIS - Your days as a private detective for the Will Street Detective Agency usually begin at 9:00 a.m. Today, when you unlock the front door, a distraught looking woman is standing on your doorstep with tear-stained eyes. Â
âI need your help,â she says earnestly. âMy daughter is missing.â
After ushering her into your office and getting her a cup of water, you ask her to give you more details on the case for which she wants to hire you. Â
âIâm sorry to barge in like this. Iâm just desperate. My name is Laura Francis Baumgartner. My daughter, Judy, didnât come home last night. The police arenât taking it seriously since Judy has run away before. But this time is different. I know it. She called me in the middle of the night and left me a very strange voicemail that talked about a yellow brick road and finding Oz and the coin showing the way. Judy is a troubled girl, but I donât think she was on drugs. I turned her room upside down, and I didnât find anything like that. But I did find a very unusual coin hidden and some other trinkets under her pillow that Iâve never seen before. The coin is covered in symbols and cryptic writings and may be what she was talking about in the voice mail. Right now, itâs the only lead I have. Will you take the case and find my daughter?â
The mention of Oz immediately gets your attention. Youâve heard rumblings of an underground society of transients that has taken up residence in the abandoned subway tunnels under the city. Youâve also heard of the rumored serial killer called Oz who supposedly lives down there amongst the homeless. If any of this is true, then Judy is obviously in trouble and needs your help. That environment is no place for a young girl. Â
You agree to take the case and accept the coin and the other items from beneath the pillow from Mrs. Baumgartner. Will you follow the yellow brick road and find out what happened to Judy? Difficulty Rating - 6.5/10
