Shipping policy
Our mysteries are created, packed and shipped from Tupelo, MS. All domestic purchases ship USPS. International shipments are shipped via APC. For all subscribers, we take subscriptions from the first day of the month through the last day of the month. Then, boxes are shipped to all subscribers during the first week of the following month. (Example: Subscriptions taken October 1- October 31. Boxes ship to subscribers during the first week of November.) We currently take subscriptions for customers from the US, Canada, and the UK. However, we ship our One-Time boxes to many different countries.
Shipping rates will appear at checkout once a shipping address is added to the order.
We will ship out based on whatever choices the customer has made in their order. We do not alter any customer information unless contacted by the customer directly.
Any charges incurred will also be based on whatever preferences the customer has made in their order.
Domestic Shipping Rates
Shipping on domestic subscriptions is already included in the subscription cost (New Pricing Effective 8/1/24). Customer will be responsible for any additional taxes appearing at checkout. Purchasing multiple one-time mysteries or products will result in different shipping rates + applicable taxes appearing at checkout.
International Shipping Rates
Shipping on international subscriptions to Canada is $5.99/month. Shipping on international subscriptions to the UK is $5.99/month. If you purchase a multi-month pre-paid subscription, you will be charged the shipping rate for all months in full. For example, if you purchase a 6-month subscription to Canada, at checkout you will be asked to pay $5.99 for each of the 6 months of your subscription term. For example, if you purchase a 6-month subscription to the UK, at checkout you will be asked to pay $5.99 for each of the 6 months of your subscription term. (New Pricing Effective 8/1/24)
Shipping on international one-time mysteries to all applicable countries will be calculated at checkout. The value of the items in your cart will trigger applicable shipping rates, duties, taxes, and other fees.
Wrong Address
Please ensure your address is correct at checkout. The Deadbolt Mystery Society is not responsible for shipments lost due to incorrect addresses. If a box is returned to us due to invalid address, the customer is responsible for the additional shipping charges to re-ship the box to the correct address. It is up to the customer to update (or reach out to Customer Support to have them update) the shipping address on the account. For subscriptions, all changes must be made by the last day of the month in order for the change to go into effect on your next box. (Example: if it is October 14th, and you need your November box shipped to a new address. This has to be updated on your account and selected as shipping address by the 31st of October.) If more than 15 days has passed since your box was shipped and you still have not received it. Contact us as support@deadboltmysterysociety.com.
Rush Shipping
There is not currently a system in place to charge for expedited shipping but we want to help! Email your request to support@deadboltmysterysociety.com and we will see if there is something we can do

Package Branding
Depending on the products that you order, most packages will arrive in one of the following:
- White mailer envelope
- Brown shipping box
Each package will have the shipping label which does contain our company name and logo. The label will be the only place on your package that mentions our company.
