Cosplay Contest

1st Place: $500 prize and your name will be immortalized as a character in a DMS Mystery.

Details: Let's see what incredible DMS look you can create! We are looking for you to step into the DMS Universe and put together a look that fits. Want to embody one of our serial killers or crazy characters? This is your chance. Or perhaps you have fallen victim to a crime and you want to show us your best victim pose/crime scene/etc. Maybe you are a member of the Shadow Bros. Carnival, a Will Street Detective, or a member of an alien cult from Temple of X. Bottom line...go BIG! The image submitted must be related to The Deadbolt Mystery Society, Will Street Detective Agency, Valley Falls Police Department, Valley Falls or any people, places, killers, victims, groups, locations, etc. from The Deadbolt Mystery Society mysteries. If you are brand-new to The Deadbolt Mystery Society, be inspired by your favorite mystery or crime shows, books, podcasts. You can also visit our website to see the mysteries we have released and draw inspiration from their titles, covers, etc. Please note, this is not just a costume contest. This is creating looks that are inspired by the works of The Deadbolt Mystery Society. We know this takes a lot of effort and intention, and that's why we have decided to make money, instead of DMS Store Credit, the prize for the winners.

Previous Cosplay Contest entries:

Photo Contest

1st Place: $250 DMS Credit and your name will be immortalized as a character in a DMS Mystery.

Details: Show us how you can have fun while solving a DMS mystery! The photo submitted must show you or your group with a mystery box from The Deadbolt Mystery Society. The box MUST BE clearly visible in the photo. There MUST BE people clearly visible in the photo. While we are animal lovers at DMS, entries containing only pets are not valid entries. Be creative with your photos.

Jack-o-lantern Contest

Details: Put those pumpkin carving skills to the test! Maybe you create Red Fang from The Secret of Easthaven Forest. Or maybe you are inspired by Down the Rabbit Hole or Lost on the Yellow Brick Road.  Making a simple, normal jack-o-lantern won't cut it. Be creative and let's see what magic you can make. The image submitted must be related to The Deadbolt Mystery Society, Will Street Detective Agency, Valley Falls Police Department, Valley Falls or any people, places, killers, victims, groups, locations, etc. from The Deadbolt Mystery Society mysteries.

*By entering any of these contests (Cosplay, Photo, Jack-o-lantern), you give The Deadbolt Mystery Society permission to use your entry on their website, social media channels and in marketing free of charge. If your work is used in any print capacity, you will receive two free copies of that printed item as payment for the use of your entry.

*One entry per person, per contest. Entries that have nothing to do with The Deadbolt Mystery Society Universe or don’t follow the guidelines will be ineligible. Submit your photos to us via e-mail at support@deadboltmysterysociety.com or via FB or IG direct message. 

*All entries must be submitted by midnight CST on 11/5/23. Winners will be announced within two weeks of the closing of each contest.
